On October 14, 2022, the film was released in limited theatrical release. The world premiere of Raymond and Ray was held at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival. In this movie, Ewan McGregor plays the role of Raymond, Ethan Hawke as Ray, Maribel Verdu as Lucia, Sophie Okonedo as Kiera, and Maxim Swinton as Simon.

The movie begins with Raymond arriving at Ray’s home to inform him about his father’s death. Their father’s final wish is that he wants his sons to attend his funeral. Ray doesn’t want to attend his father’s funeral which is a horrible one. Raymond’s license got suspended so he insists Ray drive him to their father’s funeral. Ray is an addict who is recovering and a trumpet player. Raymond is a businessman who is unlucky in his marriage life.
The result of his three marriages is a flop. After the death, their father prepared a task for his sons pre-handly. Raymond and Ray have to dig their father’s grave by themselves. This is the last wish of their father’s will. He even leaves money for his sons but on a condition.The will states that the brothers have to dig their father’s grave by themselves to get the money. When their father was alive he was a bully, neglectful, and abusive father. That’s the reason the brothers hate him. Even after his death he still messed with the life of his sons. While at the funeral the brothers got a fling for each other.
Raymond got attracted by his father’s girlfriend Lucia and Ray hangs out with Kiera, who is a nurse to his father.

For a comedy film, this movie fully revolves around a funeral site, a graveyard, and a morgue. Only the efforts of the actors saved the film from sinking.
