Giants among four NFL teams who need extra cap space
With the injuries mounting again, the New York Giants are likely going to need more salary cap
space than they currently have to make it through the season.
In fact, they are one of four teams who almost certainly need to create additional camp space.
According to Over the Cap, the Giants have just $5.41 million in available
cap space but Spotrac (top 51) has them with less a million.
The Giants officially have six players on injured reserve (IR) at a total cost of $3.4 million and another $4.1 million
Dedicated to their two players on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, Matt Peart and Nick Gates.
They are carrying a dead money charge of $31 million, a figure that consists of the
remnants of the contracts of two released veterans — Logan Ryan and James Bradberry.
