The search for the San Jose Sharks next head coach appears to be over

Multiple reports indicate the team has agreed to terms with David Quinn

with an introductory press conference expected for next week. 

Quinn, 55, most recently served as the New York Rangers' head coach from 2018-21

He amassed at 96-87-25 with New York and led the Rangers to the postseason during the pandemic-shortened 2019-20 season

Quinn has also held head coaching positions with Boston College, taking the Eagles to the NCAA title game in 2015

and with Team USA during the 2022 Olympics. 

Official terms of the contract have yet to be announced.Bob Boughner was at the helm for the past three seasons

all of which saw the Sharks finish below .500. Boughner was relieved of his head coaching duties on July 1.
