Where Orlando Magic’s roster stands after first week of free agency
The Orlando Magic appear to have made their most significant free agency and roster moves this offseason.
The biggest takeaway? They plan on running it back with most of last year’s
team and will continue to focus on developing their young players.
The Magic agreed to terms on a 2-year, $21 million deal with Mo Bamba and a 2-year deal
with Bol Bol within the first couple of days of free agency
Bol’s return became official Thursday when the team announced his deal was signed
Gary Harris was signed to a 2-year, $26 million contract extension one day before free agency began on July 1.
Paolo Banchero, the No. 1 pick in the draft, signed a 4-year
$50.16 million rookie scale contract with the Magic on Saturday, according to Spotrac.
The first two years of rookie contracts for first-round picks are automatically guaranteed
Years 3 and 4 are team options. Second-round picks don’t have automatic guarantees.
The contracts for Bamba, Bol and Caleb Houstan, the Magic’s second-round pick (No. 32)
weren’t signed before the Magic kicked off the Las Vegas summer league against the Houston Rockets late Thursday night.
Those deals, however, are expected to become official in the coming days.
